Upper Playground Winter 2008 Hoodies

Upper Playground released a new round of comfy hoodies to keep you warm this winter.   First up, they’ve got new hoodies from the UP line featuring the artwork of Usugrow and Morning Breath.  The Hair hoodie   features the lovely caligraphy lines that are unmistakably drawn by Usugrow.  The UP Rugby hoodie features a very official walrus crest done by Morning Breath.  Jeremy Fish went all out on his superFishal hoodies - the quality is all in the design and details.  His Eagle hoodie features embroidered appliques and custom printed lining.  The Bee Team hoodie features embroidered applique, custom printed lining, elbow patches and wooden button details.  He’s definitely taking the plain old hoodie up a few notches.  Sam Flores also has some new hoodies as part of his Twelve Grain collection.  New styles include the printed 4 Turntables graphic and embroidered appliques for the Beat Cycle and Rainbow Lowrider styles. Since these hoodies are all custom, they come in great shades of grey, teal and olive - colors you won’t find anywhere else.  Finally, Upper Playground has two new hoodies from the Estevan Oriol collection.  The first, LA Round 2, revisits Oriol’s most famous image - a woman’s hands making the letters “LA.”  The second features his  version of a “Lost Angel.”

All of the hoodies are available at Upper Playground stores in San Francisco, Berkeley, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York and on the Upper Playground Webstore.

Upper Playground x New Era Fitteds - December Releases

The December Batch of Upper Playground New Era’s has arrived featuring  3 new styles.  The first, Bunny Hole, is part of Jeremy Fish’s line, superFishal.  The Bunny Hole hat features a rich brown tweed fabric with brown corduroy under the visor.  The embroidery on the crown features a bunny peaking out of a hole, much like its cousin the groundhog.  Hopefully, it will help us skip winter and bring an early spring.  The other 2 styles are designed by Upper Playground.  The UP logo 59Fifty features a classic black and white pinstripe fabric:  This is grown man fabric, not for the boys.  And finally, for the leaders among us, we have the Captain New Era complete with golden oak leaf embellishments or “scrambled eggs.”  Sorry, bacon’s not included with these bad boys.  All of the hats are available at Upper Playground stores in Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Berkeley, Los Angeles and New York.

SuperFishal Collaborative Skate Decks

Each season superFishal introduces a new series of three collaborative board graphics which are screenprinted in small limited editions.  The concept is to take two artists with completely different styles and have them converge to make a really unique board graphic.  This Fall/Winter season sees Jeremy Fish collide with skater/artist Andy Howell to form ‘The Spirit’ deck, which features a couple of Jeremy’s classic
figures set in a back drop of Howell’s intricate brush strokes.  In his collaboration with Mike Giant entitled ‘The Serpent’ we see Jeremy’s style mashed into Mike’s tattoo based creations.  And Jeremy’s conspiring with Scrawl Collective’s Will Barras leads to a board called ‘The Stack’ which features the motorcycle version of Noah’s Ark.  Each board retails for $80 at upperplayground.com
