Adidas x Jeremy Scott - Artillery High “Snakeskin”

In all his collaborations with Adidas, Jeremy Scott knows how to make the most of the sneaker.  This go around the takes the basketball classic, the Arillery High and gives it a black and neon green colorway that is accented with snakeskin leather covering the uppers, an eye-catching Velcro strap, and custom lace jewels.  Drops in Feburary of 2009!  via SneakerFreaker

Nike ACG J Blazer - Snakeskin

Mr. Kim recently recieved this pair of Nike ACG J Blazers done in a funky colorway of orange and green on top of a black sole.  The uppers are covered in a snakeskin pattern with two pair of laces (orange and green).  This would be a perfect pair to get your pumpkin on for Halloween tonight, but he says he’s keeping these on ice for the moment.

Tribute: Adidas x Bape “Snakeskin” Super Ape Skate

Another classic pair of sneakers has left my collection into the hands of friend that promises to take even better care of them and even mentioned taking them out every once in a while.  Back in 2003, the unthinkable happened in the sneakerworld, Adidas collaborated with “sneaker copycat-er” A Bathing Ape on two series of sneakers (Superstar & Superskate).  The 2nd series was a three pair release of Super Ape Skates that were available in black, olive and snakeskin.  They came with 4 pairs of laces including two types of Bape Head Camo, Bape lace locks, and a hangtag that had the slogan, “Respect is Mutual”.  With only 500 made and select accounts worldwide, these were a tough pick up.  A random visit to Huf landed these sz10.5 and they’ve been on ice since then.

This post is a tribute to one of those gems or grails that many seek and will never find.  It can also serve as a legit check for those looking to buy a pair of these.  Enjoy the 11 picture pictorial after the jump and for those that have a legit pair, try to hold on to yours!
