Obviously inspired by Public Enemy’s “Fear of a Black Planet” (which was in itself a politicall charged work commentating on the socioeconomic plight of black America), the illustration is stirred by the recent campaign, media infatuation, and public celebrity of Senator Barack Obama.

Justin Bua has gained international acclaim with his raw depictions of urban street life, hip-hop, and jazz musicians. His line of posters is a best-seller in the U.S and Canadian college markets.
Justin Bua’s Barack Obama poster is part of an ongoing series from Upper Playground of artist collaborations in support of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. As usual there are 200 prints made that are signed and numbered, and each poster retails for $200. Ths limited-edition 18″x24″ print is available exclusively online here. All proceeds from the sales of the poster will go directly to creating more campaign t-shirts, posters, and stickers by other artists in support of Obama’s bid for President.

The Upper Playground x Digital Gravel t-shirt collaboration is part of an ongoing series from Upper Playground of artist collaborations in support of Obama’s presidential campaign. The Obama graphic t-shirts will showcase the sold out poster designs created by The Date Farmers, Munk One, Sam Flores, Alex Pardee, Grotesk, Morning Breath, and Ron English via Upper Playground. Under 300 t-shirts were made for each graphic, and the retail price for each t-shirt is $20. All t-shirts are available in men’s and women’s sizes. Undrcrwn retailers like Major in Washington DC has recieved the highly sought after, Obama “O-Face” T-shirt. Originally releasing at the Democratic Convention, the tee quickly sold out and has been a tough find since then. Now available in 4 colors (Black, White, Heather Grey, and Royal).
Shepard Fairey (Obey) is in town for his Duality of Humanity Exhibition on Saturday and by the looks of these pictures, he is here a few days early and plastering his iconic Andre the Giant face and other political postings(Obama) all across San Francisco.
