Nike x USA Basketball Anthem - This Is Our Game

This summer Team USA will battle in Beijing to take back what’s ours, the gold medal. Get in the game and be a part of USA Basketball’s official theme song for the 2008 Olympics. New: Nike Sportswear Website

After the May debut of the Nike Sportswear line in Beijing, Nike has now put together a website dedicated to this new collection that takes it’s inspiration from the multi-cultural event that the Olympics represents.  Check out some of the product previews and stop on top of the many events that hits New York, Los Angeles, and Philedelphia.  Check out the website here.

Nike Olympic Mascots Pack - Fuwa

Nike is going to release a Olympic Mascots Pack in this month with 5 different sneakers (2 cortezs, a blazer low, a dunk low, & vandal low).  Each sneaker represents, Fuwa which is the natural characteristics of four of China’s most popular animals — the Fish, the Panda, the Tibetan Antelope, the Swallow, as well as the Olympic Flame.  Each of Fuwa has a rhyming two-syllable name — a traditional way of expressing affection for children in China. Beibei is the Fish, Jingjing is the Panda, Huanhuan is the Olympic Flame, Yingying is the Tibetan Antelope and Nini is the Swallow.  When the names are put together -  Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni it says, “Welcome to Beijing”, welcoming the world to Beijing.   Unfortunately the pack is currently only in GS or Grade School sizes and is available now at kix-files

Nike Hyperdunk Olympic Series

NiceKicks was on hand to photograph Nike’s new space in Harlem to showcase the future of US Olympic Basketball, The Commitment and part of the event was a display of Olympic Series Hyperdunks.  They created special editions for 8 international powers and a few Nike signature athletes in addition to the US Olympic model. The teams represented in this series include (pictured L-R above) Russia, Argentina (Manu Ginobili), China, Australia, Spain (Pau Gasol), Puerto Rico, Lithuania, and Germany (Dirk Nowitzki).

Nike Hyperdunk “Black Mamba” - Kobe Bryant

Marquesole just got some early pairs of the Nike Hyperdunk “Black Mamba” which are based on Kobe Bryant’s Olympic PE version.   Using the same navy blue and white colorway, Nike took the shoe a little further with black and white stripes on the inner side of the toebox, a laser etching of a black mamba on the outer toe box and snake scaling around the upper ankle.  Look for a retailer release in the coming weeks.

Puma “Tommie Smith” Clyde Collection

During the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, Tommie Smith and his teammate John Carlos came in first and third, respectively in the 200-meter dash. As they received their medals, each man raised a black-gloved fist, representing the change in civil rights in the United States and throughout the world. As a tribute to this brave athlete and his favorite pair of PUMA sneakers, the Clyde, the Tommie Smith Clyde collection features 2 exclusive pairs of the iconic sneaker.

Gold Clydes
The Gold Clyde has an upper made out of metallic gold leather, with an embossed 1968 Mexico City Olympic gold medal all over pattern. Other details include the Mexico City reference on the sock-liner with the tongue labels displaying his record breaking time of 19.83 seconds in the 200M race.

Blue Suede Clydes
These are the shoes that Tommie wore on the podium at the 1968 Olympic games. They have been lined with a metallic gold leather lining, a reference to his gold medal win. Included is the Mexico City reference on the sock-liner with the tongue labels displaying his record breaking time of 19.83 s in the 200M race.
