
Nike’s Doernbecher Freestyle Charity Project is now in its fifth year and has raised nearly $2 million for the hospital. This year’s patient designers come from Doernbecher’s cancer, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery and nephrology deparyments. The 2008 Freestyle collection includes five new shoes designed by Doernbecher patients and one by Nike designer Mark Smith to celebrate the program’s fifth anniversary. There will be a highly sought after Air Jordan I, two different Air Force 1s, a women’s Free Mary Jane, and an Air Zoom Vomero+3 running shoe. The Mark Smith’s anniversary shoe the white Air Max that features the Doernbecher logo on the tongue, orange accents, and multicolored sole.
