Last night on Christmas, Lebron James was sporting a special  “chalk” version of his signature Nike shoe, the Nike Zoom Lebron VI.  It is a tribute to his pregame ritual of tossing and blowing hand rosin into the air above the scorer’s table before he takes the court.  Nike provided packets of confetti for fans to throw along with James, who began the routine a few years ago.  The colorway is in the Cav’s blue, red and gold with a silhouette of LeBron James throwing chalk dusts on the tongue.  No word on release date at this time.   Pictures via getty images

Today, November 25, NBA All-Star LeBron James makes his first trip of the 2008-09 NBA season to the city that many are speculating will be his future NBA home, Madison Square Garden (New York).  During the game he will be sporting a special “Big Apple” version of his Nike Zoom LeBron VI.  They sport Candy Red Apple uppers and sit on top of Yankee colored speckled midsoles.  Those looking to purchase the Zoom LeBron VI – “Big Apple” edition will have to be in New York City on Friday, November 28.  It will be available at several retail locations throughout the city, including Niketown, House of Hoops by Foot Locker and The Rivington Club retailing for $140. via Freshness

USA Basketball just wrapped up their four-game friendly exhibition games with a close win over Austrailia in preparation of the Beijing Olympics.   Nike created three special mockups of signature shoes for NBA star’s Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.  The Friendlies Pack includes the Hyperdunk for Kobe, the Zoom Soldier II PE for LeBron and Olympia Supreme PE for Carmelo.
