D.Lewis & Dry Bones comes with a couple of collaborative pieces for the Spring 2009 season. D.Lewis is Britan’s oldest motorcycle clothing brand. First up is the DBDL chambray shirt is made of a heavy indigo selvedge chambray, dyed and woven in Okayama with original accents such as slanted pockets, elbow reinforcements, and a red DL embroidery on the left cuff. Next is a vintage inspired crewneck pullover made of a brushed herringbone wool from DBDL really caught our eye when we first saw it; a design not seen often any more, a very period perfect piece. Superfuture, a website dedicated to the finer points of shopping, traveling, and garments. This SEXDBXS09 jean dedicated to this special website, has been produced by Dry Bones, one of Japan’s longest running vintage Americana style denim manufacturers. Self Edge has chosen a denim with a little more weight than the classic styles, at 16oz it’s got heft to it, and with massive amounts of character showing from the warp and weft it’s sure to age well. The fit is that of a straight leg jean, slightly slimmed down, with a button fly and a long inseam which can be hemmed to the wearer’s length without altering the silhouette. Accents include hidden rivets, cowhide leather tag, Superfuture dual-tone “Rep Bar” stitch, military grade green rear pocket linings, coin pocket selvedge, and a cotton poly-core stitch.
The SEXDBXS09 will be released at Self Edge’s webstore under the Dry Bones brand at 8:30am (PST) on Saturday February 28th. It will be released in-store at Noon the same day.
While in Japan, Self Edge helped design a Natural Indigo dyed shirt with Dry Bones, a beautifully dyed Natural Indigo Pin Striper Shirt. With a flap chest pocket, a vintage workwear style button enclosure, and triple stitched throughout this shirt is exactly what we wanted in a classic style shirt but in a dark natural indigo woven fabric. The shirt appears quite dark when new, but will lighten after a few washes and fade over time just like indigo denim. Available in store and on-line.
