Sole Collector released footage of actor/sneakerfiend, Chi McBride, and Jordan Brand Creative Director, Mark Smith discussing Nike’s next charity venture in the form of Kanye West’s Grammy Air Yeezy.  The results are a Nike’s planned auction item- a sample Nike Air Yeezy with an Air Jordan VI sole.

Here are new photos of the 2009 Doernbecher Freestyle Air Jordan VI (6) Retro.  Very Olympic-ish with blue suede uppers along with red and gold accents.  The child that picked out the colors is actually named, Jordan.  The ‘06/08′ impressed on the side panel is when he Finished Treatment and the large number 1 stitched on the backtab is because he finished first in his class.  Release date is 11/14/09.

Celebrating the 5 years of the Charitable Doernbecher Project, Mark Smith will be designing the 5th anniversary sneaker. The chosen sneaker is the Air Max 90, featuring a white upper, orange accents and a multicolored sole. Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 5 - 2008 Collection

Nike’s Doernbecher Freestyle Charity Project is now in its fifth year and has raised nearly $2 million for the hospital. This year’s patient designers come from Doernbecher’s cancer, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery and nephrology deparyments.  The 2008 Freestyle collection includes five new shoes designed by Doernbecher patients and one by Nike designer Mark Smith to celebrate the program’s fifth anniversary. There will be a highly sought after Air Jordan I, two different Air Force 1s, a women’s Free Mary Jane, and an Air Zoom Vomero+3 running shoe.  The Mark Smith’s anniversary shoe the white Air Max that features the Doernbecher logo on the tongue, orange accents, and multicolored sole. Doernbecher Freestyle Air Jordan 1 by Tony Taylor Jr.

Nike kicks off their latest series of charity Doernbecher Freestyle shoes, designed by former patients of the Portland-based Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.  The first sneaker of five that we’ll be detailing is the Doernbecher Freestyle Air Jordan 1 High, designed by Tony Taylor Jr, or as his friends and family call him, Mr. Boober.  The shoe is made with a gradient fading patent leather and is actually just two pieces, a first for the normally multi-paneled silhouette.
