Sample Kickz is getting in a couple of pairs of the Levi’s Fenom Light Cropped Sunderys. Available in 505 and 360 cuts for the blue denim version with neon green accents and 207 in black denim with purple accents.
Part of a two-year overhaul by Gap creative director Patrick Robinson, Gap has relaunched 1969, its “premium” denim line. It is a move towards what denim enthusiats are looking for a simple five-pocket pair without unecessary logos and higher quality denim. Using a medium-weight raw denim with white selvage, they are coming with slimmer cuts like this “Skinny” version. In conventional jean production the excess fabric from the cutting room is discarded, Sugar Cane has taken this fabric and macerated it and spun it back into yarn which is then used to produce the denim. The recycled yarn is used as the weft (fill) thread while the warp is unused pure indigo dyed 50/50 (sugarcane/cotton) blend yarn, resulting in 13.75oz Selvedge Unsanforized Denim. These Straight Leg Fit Jeans are extremely limited in production and only available at Self Edge outside of Japan.
After recently visiting the Stussy Store in Vancouver, I had a chance to see in person their line of Stussy Deluxe Japanese denim jeans. These rigid and raw jeans come with Japanese red selvage denim, a black leather patch and are available in black or blue. Two cuts available - slim fit and standard fit, both priced at $240 a pair.
