The man on top of the skateboarding world, Nike SB teamrider Paul Rodriguez has opened his own sneaker/clothing boutique called Primitive in Encino, California.  Brands will include - Nike SB, Adidas, Converse, New Balance, Alife, The Hundreds, Diamond, Stussy, 10 Deep, Upper Playground, In4mation, Alphanumeric, Brixton, Cappeline, Obey, Crooks N’ Castles, etc.  With these brands and his backing, you know this is a shop that will be a destination shop for years to come.  via WTF!

Converse - “United We Rise” Olympics Team Wade

With the way Dwayne Wade has been killing it during the exhibition games this week, fans must be wondering if “its got to be the shoes.”  As part of the Nike/Jordan Brand/Converse collective “United We Rise” Series, Converse has created these “United We Rise” Converse Team Wade Signature sneakers for D-Wade to wear during the Summer 2008 Beijing Olympics.  The sneaker features a Red/White/Blue upper with the Joshua “Hydro74″ Smith designed “United We Rise” reflective tribal print on the toe and at the heel and the “United We Rise” logo at the tongue.”  Look for an 8/8/08 release at select Converse retailers with only 2008 made.  via Sneaker Freaker

Jordan’s Defining Moments Pack wouldn’t be complete if it didn’t include the Converses that he wore during his North Carolina Tar Heels vs. the Georgetown Hoyas in 1982.  These Converse samples replicate those historic sneakers, but word has it that they will not hit the retail shelves thus staying as samples.  Good luck hunting them down.  via Ken Lu

Converse All Star Low Profile

This is Converse’s take on re-inventing the Chuck Taylor All-Stars.  They took this classic sneaker and gave it a more sleek look with the straps and the extra long tongue.  It is called the All-Star Low Profile and it will arrive this month at select Converse retailers for $94.

Converse 100th Anniversary Song by N.E.R.D x Santogold x Julian Casablancas

This year is the 100th anniversary for Converse and for this event, Converse has invited N.E.R.D, Santogold and The Strokes frontman Julian Casabancas to collaborate on a promotional song called, “My Drive Thru”.  It is a unique blend of music from three very different artists.  The song can be downloaded for free at the converse website here.
