
We know your attention was on a Gucci styled effort from Lafayette’s finest, but like the faintly overlooked navy and viotech effort from earlier in the year, here’s another SB Blazer that’s deserving of a wider audience. As ever, there’s a little bit more meat to the SB variation of this court classic. Away from any board benefits, it’s marginally less agonizing after long distances and less prone to sneakily shredding your denim behind your back, while those little details, like a custom patterned sockliner tongue label and huge ‘81′ detail on the heel - something that does deserve to be shouted from the rooftops, with it being the birth year of the Cologne Made In skate store, weathering a number of fads and lulls to celebrate 25 years, where a high retail mortality rate has diminished the number of OG stores, make all the difference to this Euro-only release. While the original sample was in a chocolate brown, with a gum midsole, ultimately being released in a non-store branded version that about 3 people on a forum sagely labelled the ‘un-Made In’, this grey suede version has a Wintery look accentuated by the white midsole and fat black Swoosh with contrast stitching. Frostier than the lovechild of Tony The Tiger and the home-based peddler of poor man’s Slush Puppies, Mr Frosty, these are a neutral dose of niceness for the current season…
