Converse x Robert Indiana – Product(Red)

Converse and Robert Indiana recently teamed up to bring two of the newest offerings for Product Red. If you don’t know Robert Indiana was the man who designed the iconic LOVE statue that stands at Love Park (JFK Plaza) in Philadelphia. The iconic LOVE piece was first created to adorn a card for the Museum of Modern art in 1964; from there it made it to a stamp for the USPS in 73. In 1976 the popular sculpture was placed in JFK Plaza and in 2010 the design continues on for a good cause. The Chuck Taylor above comes with an all leather upper with the LOVE design lasered into the shoe in a dot pattern. The leather of the upper is extremely nice and buttery.

Simple does it with this Chuck Taylor, but the materials make it. An all black heavy suede upper with all blacked out eyelets really help the embroidered LOVE design pop with the staple Product Red eyelet. Even the grey toecap on this shoe is suede. The converse logo on the reverse side of the shoe is tonal black embroidery that lets the LOVE logo speak for itself.  Both pairs are available now at St. Alfred
