DC2 Project 4
So last Friday morning, I drove down to Santa Clara to pick up my Blox test pipe and SK2 Pro Series IM from Wek Sos. Then Saturday and Sunday I installed the IM. It was my first time ever installing anything major on a vehicle. Thanks to the forums that provided the tutorial!
Overall, it was a REAL pain in the ass to install(but worth it). I don’t think I want to do it again! Some of the difficult parts of this install was removing the nuts that held the IM (barely any room to fit your hand and wrench), removing the toasted IM gasket, and finding the vacuum leak (took me hours to find! All I had to do was tighten the nuts on the IM!
). It was difficult enough doing the install w/ the engine mounted!
I replaced most of the hoses (coolant, PVC, Vacuum) that were connected to the old IM and did some minor adjustments such as extending some electrical plugs so they were 3 inches longer.
After installing the IM, I lifted the car and installed the Blox test pipe.
I still have to purchase a couple of things (ITR throttle cable/bracket and Non-GSR B or D-series throttle body pulley and spring) that are not necessary but will make the install more cleaner. I still have to install the Comtech high flow air filter. I was way too exhausted to grab it!.. Pics of the IM below! **ENGINE DIRTY**
