Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 Bento Box Dropping at Size?

ot.jpgSeeing as we like to use our beloved Soho food-spot Taro for lunch meetings to put the sneaker world to rights over a bargain chicken teriyaki don, we instinctively associate sports footwear and Japanese food. The heads at the pioneering Onitsuka Tiger have taken it a bit further, as the stakes as to what constitutes great packaging have been-upped since the days of olde when we’d rub our eyes in astonishment at those handled HTM boxes, with this bespoke bento-themed box to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the cult Mexico 66. Rocked during the ‘68 Mexico Olympics, it’s 40 years old. And to reiterate the point, they’ve gone and embroidered it on the upper so you don’t forget. As well as the shoe, there’s all manner of nik-naks to pick and choose from, including a copy of Yutaka Yamamoto’s ace The True Story Of Onitsuka Tiger book.
