SNAP! A weekly DJ Collective Showcase

Ever want to learn about DJing? How about perfecting your skills or cutting an album? Then stop by The Cellar every Wednesday night, from 7-10pm where DJs from the local FINGERSNAPS collective visit the turntables, bringing founder DJ Lamont Young who can provide valuable info on getting started.

DJ Lamont Young has perfected a series of classes that teach the art of DJing to all age groups, professions, and backgrounds. Fingersnaps DJ & Art Collective is housed at Red Ink Studios, a guerilla art collective hosting emerging artist of diverse mediums. DJ Lamont provides an intimate, creative and stimulating environment, combined with a one-on-one teaching technique rare in most DJ schools.

The DJ classes are offered for both Turntable and CDs at the Beginning, Advanced, and Pro levels, teaching students everything from basic set up, beat matching and scratching to developing personal style. Studio rentals are available for established DJs that need a stimulating, vibrant, and creative atmosphere to record and mix their sets.

Every week a different FINGERSNAPS DJ will grace the stage and throw down their latest mix in an open, creative environment where all are welcome. So stop in, listen to the sets (different genres of music are featured weekly), chat with other local DJs and industry-folk, and throw back some drinks at Happy Hour prices. You can’t lose!

November Schedule:

Nov 15 DJ James Base
